| Letter from Consultant Paediatrician (Dr Shahid Ali) - Katie Off Medication |
Date Posted: 22/09/2005 |
Dear Dr Lineham
Katie G German 08/04/2005
Problem: Dysplastic multicystic left kidney
Current treatment: Trimethoprim 10 mg once a day
I was pleased to review Katie on 19 September for a follow up appointment. She was well with no acute problem. She is growing reasonably well with her weight above the 75thcentile. Her vaccination is up to date and examination was normal. She had an MCUG done on 15 August, which did not show any evidence of vesicoureteric reflux. She had a MAG 3 renogram on 15 September, which shows a functioning right and a non-functioning left kidney. I plan to send both these results to Mr Rajimwale, consultant paediatric urologist at Leicester Royal Infirmary, for further advice. In the absence of vesicoureteric reflux, she can now stop Trimethoprim. I will request my secretary to send her a follow up clinic appointment to catch up on her progress in about four months' time.
Yours sincerely
Dr Shahid Ali
Consultant Paediatrician
