Katie Grace is born. Date Posted: 08/04/2005

1.20am – Start getting mild contractions. About 10 minutes apart.

1.45am – Contractions getting stronger. About 7 minutes apart now.

Call in-laws to come round to look after Zack.

2.30am – Call my mum in Edinburgh to let her know what is going on.

2.45am - Call my dad in Edinburgh to let him know what is going on. Contractions are now about every 2 or 3 minutes. In-laws arrive to look after Zack

Get in brother-in-laws car for drive to hospital at 2.55am.

3am – Arrive at hospital. Get examined. 7cm dilated. Too late for epidural.

3.05am – Decide I want to push. Midwife has a quick look and says I am now 10cm so I can if I want to.

3.10am – Katie Grace born weighing 8lbs 13oz. Discharged from hospital at 5pm after speaking to consultant pediatrician who says I will get a letter in mail with appointment for an ultrasound for Katie and an appointment to see a pediatrician in the children’s out-patient department.
